Crimscote Construction have taken delivery of four brand new Mercedes Vito vans for our site supervisors and contracts managers ensuring that our civil and groundworks projects are delivered in the best way possible.

The purchases supports our continued business growth and development within the commercial groundworks and drainage sector. The vans will be rolled out across Birmingham and the West Midlands to ensure our staff have the right equipment to deliver the right result; whether that’s tarmac laying, reinforced concrete structures, drainage, foundations, slab laying, or general groundworks. The new vehicles have been chosen in line with Crimscote Construction’s environmental policy; these vehicles are the most economical in their class with an impressive fuel consumption of 47.1mpg whilst still boasting a load capacity enabling us to carry somewhere in the region of 120kg. What next?

We plan to replace and upgrade our fleet of plant machinery later this year; specifically our Hitachi zaxus 13.5 ton & 12 ton machines to support our new residential development sites around Solihull. Current plans for our below 5 Ton excavators, dumpers and roller fleet replacement programme are currently looking towards March 2017.

Procurement for these new vehicles was always going to be a difficult decision due to the amount of choice within the current market. Ultimately; we didn’t choose the cheapest option, we went with a vehicle which is one of the best in its class for a multitude of reasons, but more importantly the one which will have least negative impact on our environment, and also a brand which we feel reflects the same quality, and durability as the work we produce.

Due to these continued new purchases and the upcoming replacement programme of our vehicle fleet, in addition to our plant machinery fleet; we will soon be advertising for a new transport/plant manager. If you think you’ve got what it takes, want to work in the civil and groundworks sector and like the idea of joining our team, keep you’re eye out for updates on our Career Opportunities page.
